Photo Series: Photographing Jaywick

Jaywick Sands was once a very popular holiday destination. Located just along the Essex coast from Clacton on sea, it attarcted visitors fro all around Essex and London.

In recent years, it has been known as one of the most ‘deprived’ (sic) areas of the UK. I have visited Jaywick a number of times, once on holiday, and a couple of times recently to visit the town and to explore the very sandy beaches.

This mini photo series is a selection of photographs from a visit when I walked along from Jaywick Sands into Clacton. The stretch of coast between the two really is something that people should explore and I hope this does it justice.

Jaywick is a great place, full of character and a real community as you go through the town. It really is worth a visit.
